I've seen lots of pictures and stuff, but I'd LOVE to have a white gerbil with dark eyes. They're so pretty. I'd love it if I could breed for it myself... but I'm still new with the genetics.
My female, Ritzie, is (as far as I can tell) a Slate Pied . I'm pretty sure it's slate, and not black.
My male, Keebler, is a Siamese.
They had a litter already, and they all had dark eyes (so far, so good) but one was black, one bermese (both with one little sliver of white unter their chins) As well as 3 siamese colored pieds. There was also a super light cream baby with pied markings. I thought she'd be white until she was nearly 3 weeks old! But she's creamy...
I've read up on genetics, and I'm understanding it a little, and I know about the punnent square and all, but I'm still getting used to it.
I think Ritzie is (aaggSp) Am I right?

You mean the creamy baby has dark eyes too?

I'm nearly positive! Why? Is she special? Every now and then I'll catch a red tint, but they're pretty dark eyes. If you REALLY look, then they're not as dark as her siblings or parent's, but they're not RED. Maybe a little tiny tint, but you look at her, and say, "Oh, she's got dark eyes too."

Wow, she sounds like a beautiful pup. If the parent's carry aa cbch E- G- P- and aa Ccb E- gg PP then none of the pups would be red-eyed and you'd have (statistically doesn't usually work out exactly) 1/2 black, 1/4 burmese, 1/4 siamese. If both carried Ee, then the pups would be 37% black, 37% Siamese and Burmese, 13% Nutmeg, 13% lcp and cp nutmeg. CP nutmegs could look creamy colored, and would have dark eyes. But I don't really know, guess it's just a matter of waiting and seeing what color the white pup is after she molts, or her points come in. I'd love to see any pictures you have!!
