Oh my god, I haven't seen Devon's gerbils in months. I didn't realize they looked so gorgeous when they got older . I think you are right with your guesses. I can't wait to see what the cp grey agouti looks like when it's older. Do you know which ones you are keeping to breeed? Don't you think it's a bit strange that you didn't get any white pups this litter? You actually got a nice spread of all the colours possible *except* for white. Gorgeous pics by the way!

Actually there was one white but it was very weak, broke some bones and was abandoned by the mom. So it didn't make it. Too bad, because they can also have DTW and I want one.
Queenie, didn't these come out of some of your stock? You did good! I'm for sure keeping the pearl because I want a grey agouti and also I might want to isolate the gg line in future (not right now, though).

I brought a burmese/siamese breeding pair carrying g from Saskatoon. One of their cp slate pups, Asha, was rehomed to Devon and is the mother of your two lcp agoutis. If it was me, I'd also be keeping the cp grey agouti . Devon is working on breeding for that colour to pair with my Siamese with a recessive g.

Darn, I wish we could all get together some time. Canada is so BIG. If they have another one in a subsequent litter she'd be welcome to it! I'm actually looking for a colourpoint slate in the pups because I'd like to have a siamese with a recessive g breeding with a colourpoint slate to produce all the aa recessive colourpoint colours. I know this project will take awhile. At the same time I'll be establishing my ee line so as you can see I'll have a busy year!

My new pied gerbil, Gizmo ("I couldn't help it") is similar to the color of Sandy's gerbil in that link you gave me. (the one who's kind of hiding his face.)

Are you sure your pair are LIGHT CP agouti? It could just be the photo, but they look rather dark to be LCP to me. (I could be wrong..)

Yup, they are light colourpoint agouti. They each carry g recessive, which darkens colourpoints slightly (increases ticking). I know they are light colourpoints because they had a siamese pup. Here is a Colourpoint Golden Agouti, just to compare:
