This is a very crazy and unique story, anybody that inst a gerbil or rodent lover for that matter would most likely cringe, But here it goes...
I used to breed gerbils back when I was much younger. Im talking the years of elementary school, probably was around grades 6 and 7 that I did this. At the time I had two breeding pairs of gerbils. I loved them so much; I would make these whole villages out of cardboard and large cardboard mall with cardboard elevators that could be raised to different levels by the pull of a string! I had tons of fun with them!
I use to have this older habbittrail type cage, I cant remember what it was called but I believe it was made by a company called Hartz. Anyway I had a littler of pups that were about two weeks old. Starting to crawl around and covered in a light fuzz, but eyes still closed. I cant remember for the life of me why, but I had a water bowl in the cage, it was a small sized jam jar that I was using. I came home from school one afternoon and found this pup face first down floating in the water. I remembered thinking it couldnt have been long while in my periodic panic attack because it back was still dry.
I picked the little pup up and it made the tiniest movement but then was still. I didnt know what to do, so.. I gave the little one cpr.. Yes I carefully blew into its mouth and taped rabidly at its heart, eventually it made a little squeak and started moving around.. And it lived!
I was never so scared in my life!
