How cruel is that??? People like that shouldn't be allowed animals of any size... Did you take the gerbil even though it was female?

People are lame, probably for the best that she brought it back, maybe now the gerbil can have a better life. I agree she must have had the gerbil in the critter carrier for a long period of time. I brought my gerbils to my meditation circle once to show everyone how they were doing, probably were about 6 weeks old at that point, and with two gerbils in there for about 3 hours I never smelled urine at all, in fact I still have the same bedding in there I bought my orlando from a petsmart:P So did you take back the gerbil, im curious myself.

When I worked at an animal shelter, we had two young syrian hamsters brought in a tiny critter keeper. What in the heck where they thinking ! They were left in that tiny house until I saw them the next morning. Sometimes my co-workers could be so lazy - if I hadn't worked there, no one would have split the two up. One day they would have walked in and there would be carnage .

You know they do make it seem like the kritter keeper is all you need to house them, but anybody with half a brain should be able to realize that its too small to live in

Yes we took her, we didn't realize it was a female until later. I think one of my co-workers took her home since we can't resell her; she has like a ton of gerbils, we're both gerbil fanatics! I'm glad that the little gerbie will be loved now!
