[glow=red,2,300] Before one of our gebils died, (abercrombie), they used love the wheel. Abercrombie was better than Hollister @ the wheel. It was so funny. One of them would be running in the wheel when the other one would just jump in while they were running! One time they even tried running @ the same time! LOL! They were so funny. ;D ;D[/glow]

Here let me put my sunglasses on so I can read this post Much better, yes mine use to do that all the time too with their wheel. One would be going lightening fast and the other would jump in flipping the other one out, very funny lol

My daughter wanted to write about our gerbils so I told her to use my login because she's under age. I approved her message but did not watch the spelling or the creative colors. lol. I don't even know how to do the smileys : ) see.

Hehe. For smilies, just click on the icons when you post or get rid of the space between the ":" and the ")" None of my 6 gerbils have ever been interested in their wheel, but rather terrified of it.

I had some Russian Hamsters and they would sometimes have 2 of them in the wheel trying their hardest to run in different directions!!! lol and also one time I had 2 of them in the wheel (running in the same direction this time) and a 3rd running ON TOP of the wheel!!! I've managed to get 3 out of 4 of my youngest gerbils to run on the wheel. The older ones I tried to get them too run too late and they will have nothing to do with it!

Last night one of my gerbils would run in her wheel, then jump out for a second and watch the wheel spin, then jump back in to get it going fast again! Just like when a child spins the wheels on a toy truck and watches them spin! So funny!

Plastic wheels are not good. My friend had a gerbil who chewed through a plastic wheel and they never did find part of the plastic. You have to be careful with some metallic wheels though, because there is the fear that Gerbils will get their tales stuck in the wheel and the result may be either a badly damaged tail or a missing tail since Gerbil tails are more apt to break off than say a mouse or rats. I found this website that goes a bit more into wheels, it's only a paragraph so you may have to do some other research. www.geocities.com/Heartland/Plains/9792/care.html#housinghttp://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Plains/9792/care.html#housing
