Not long ago, I aquired Dusty, my first Lilac gerbil. Too me he was just a grey gerbil with red eyes. Occasionly I will bring the gerbs to my mother and let her pet them. She doesn't like to admit it, but she rather likes them, so long as she doesn't have to clean them. Ever since getting Dusty, Mom has eyed him oddly. I thought perhaps it was becuase he resembles a mouse. Yesterday, she had a revelation after I told her that he's a Lilac.
"THAT'S what so weird about him! He's PURPLE! Your gerbil is PURPLE LOL!"
I laughed along with her. Until she had said this I had never noticed that he IS tinted Lilac. Hence the name I suppose. I thought this little moment was funny enough to share...Dusty The Purple Gerbil.

We're in luck. I managed to grab two pics of him last week. He's camera shy and kept diving down the tube when the flash went off.

Cute! Yes I can see that too. Lauren: Kali does look a bit pink, lol. Maybe the pink bar across her adds to it?

Lol, well here's the pic in full: Well? I can still see the pinkness, but that's 'cos she's running around on the desk!
