Aww. My Isis does exactly that! Mind you she also regularly falls asleep in my hands, so I cant be that scary!
Osiris on the other hand, wont bloody sit still long enough for me to find out if she's content! She's mad!

Twist does that, it's very, very sweet My other two don't really do it though.. Daisy has done it ever so slightly a couple of times but Carrie never, ever sits still long enough for me to find out! Although I don't think she likes me much anyway!

Katchoo purrs a lot, especially if I'm sitting near the heater when I'm holding her! She kind of stretches out towards it as if she's sunbathing, and lets me stroke all down her back while she trembles. She's so lovely. Rory sometimes likes being scratched behind the ears, and she's been known to do a bit of purring, but she's not very good with being handled so it doesn't last long or happen very often. Francine, even though she's the most 'human' of all my gerbils (she really tries to communicate with me!), can't be bothered with fuss like stroking etc so I've never had her do any purring - she's too busy running on to my shoulder and hiding in my hair!

I thought my gerbils were purring. I'm not too sure since one just nipped me afterwards. Does the vibrating have to seen. or is it more like a cat purr (you can feel the vibrating).
