OK I don't know if this is much of a story but I felt like sharing it with gerbil enthusiasts cuz all my friends and family think I'm Nuts already.
Anyway I went into my room the other night and saw that one of my girls wouldn't come out of her hiding place. When I put my hand in there I knew something was wrong because gerbils always come out and inspect everything that comes into their cage! Well she didn't so I picked up the hide-a-way and looked inside and she wasn't moving at all. So I took her out and she wasn't as stiff yet so I thought there was a tiny bit of life left in her, though not much. Good thing she twitched or I would've put her into a plastic bag already to go to the gerbil grave! So I held her for a few minutes and she wasn't moving, eyes were closed. So I knew that she wouldn't make it at all. Then I got this crazy idea that I could somehow revive her if I kept her warm since she felt kind of cold. So what I did was I held her in front of this fan that blew heat. But not so close as to burn her but enough to warm her. Then I stayed with her like that for about half an hour. And lo and behold she opened both her eyes and bit me real hard I drew blood! Then after that I put her back in her cage and she started eating and drinking, but I kept her cage close to the heater. Although she was wobbly she eventually got over it and the next morning she was back to her normal self again, jumping and hitting her head on the cage lid driving me and the people in the room next door insane. But that's OK I'm surprised and glad she recovered!! It was like a miracle for me LOL ..
BTW I was talking about my BEW (yes a BEW!!) that was given to me by Rin (Thanks Rin!!). The cutest little gerbil ever!!! ;D
