I've own gerbils for 5 yrs. I love them like family and would never dream of purposlly hurting them. But unfornately, the lady who lives down the street is the complete opposite. Here's the story: The lady who lives six houses down from me recently bought the cutest little gerbil baby. She was so happy and had me come over and look at her. Over the next month however, i noticed, she began talking less and less about "her baby" a few weeks ago, there was several police cars in front of her house and shortly after she moved suddenly. When I went to invesigate, noticed she had left her gerbil behind. I was so shoucled at what i saw. She had barely any hair, and scabs all over her body. I took her home and tried to nurse her back to health. Unfornately, she was too weak, injured, and ill, to survive more than a week. Even though I had her only a week, I cried when she died. She deserved better than what she got. After her death, I became more aware of my gerbils health and well-being. I never will know why this lady suddenly neglected her prcious gerbil nor do I want to know. R.I.P. Mely your life was not long enough nor was it happy

aaw... that is just terrible. But you know, that last week of her life, was probably the best one she had, filled will love, care and affection. I too cannot understand these people, and it makes me wish there were licencing to get animals (and kids!).
