Miracle Annie and not so lucky Lily RIP

I was woken by my daughter who found the gerbil cage on the floor, she was frantic as both gerbils were missing, it seems that our cat had knocked the cage down and had got away with the gerbils, I ran outside and came across Lily dead, I could see a couple of cats huddled around the bottom of a tree, and inside was Annie, wet and cold avoiding the cats, I grabbed her and brought her back in and held her to warm her up, I put her in the cage and left her to sleep no daring to look in case she passed away, the miracle is that I've just had her out in my bedroom running around without a care in the world, not a mark on her, I can't believe she has survived and I'm so happy and grateful and so sad at the same time. Annie's cage is now out of reach and safe from the cat. So now the hunt begins for a friend(s) for Annie.

Awww i'm sorry to hear about lilly but good on ya annie!! i guess every cloud has some sort of silver lining?

Oh My God you must have been devastated !!!

So sorry to hear about Lilly but I am sooooo pleased that little Annie survived without a scratch !!!

Any pics of the two of them?
