Finch has recently engaged in the behavior of packing the tube that leads to the food full of bedding. Now, both Bosco and finch have actually done this, but Finch seems to do it more. They both know alternate ways to their food, via jumping.
Any ideas on why they do this?

Mongolian gerbils cover their food always, they cover also always the food dishes I give them. even if I place them on a high place. In the wild they have also a chamber where they store food, but I'm not sure if they close that chamber!

Ours always bury there food bowls !.. there seems to be noting you can do about it.
The cheesmans have an alternative storing method, they don't bury their food but spend 20 mins after feeding time, transporting there food, bit by bit to the back of the bed.... Takes them ages then you will see them all evening nibbling away in bed!!.. ;D
