Well... Okay. I held Burkie in one hand (she is from clan #1) and I held Honey in the other (she is from clan #2). All of a sudden, I feel sharp pain in my finger. Honey had missed Burkie and bit me! It hurt! It bleed for about 10 minutes, then it hurt for another hour. They have BIG teeth!

been there done that!!!!! Its a puncture wound so its much deeper than you realise and yes it does bleed a good while as well as hurting for a lot longer Bites should be cleaned and keep an eye on them but are unlikely to cause any further problems. (obviously any sign of infection should recieve medical attention) Remember the most dangerous bite your likely to get from any mammal is a human bite!!! (because of course humans carry human bugs!!!!) NEVER EVER mix gerbils from different clans like that. It's asking for trouble as in the wild keeping your colonies territory free of other gerbils is a basic requirement for survival. Our gerbils may have been in captivity for many generations but the basic instincts remain present!!!
