Goat and Feisel have been split caged for two days, and I just put them in an largely bare, small aquarium together to see how they felt about each other. A lot of times they sort of leaned up against each other, side by side. Goat also mounted Feisel a lot, though I think it's pretty obvious that Goat's going to be the dominant one for the time being since she's so much bigger. Feisel didn't seem to mind it that much. They did that stuff and explored for about 5 minutes or more, and then Goat did something that made Feisel jump (couldn't quite tell what) so I just put them back in the split cage. Does is sound like it's going well? Is the leaning up against each other an aggressive or a friendly gesture? Thanks for helping me with this! -Devun

Devun, I think it is a non aggressive behavior. WHen I introduced Momma Bear to Squirt, she lunged at the cage like she wanted to *harm* him in the worst way. I would say that the munting is a slightly aggressive behavior of dominance. How old is Feisle? If she is a pup then they should be okay with each other.
I think that it sounds like it is going okay so far!! Keep an eye out when you switch sides and then they get a look at each other. Usually when you switch side, if they are still being aggressive, when they first spot each other and they lunge or make an aggressive move, then they need more split time.
Good luck. Keep us posted.
