I recently got 2 new gerbils. They were farely young and came from the same home. However, since I got them they have been seperated. Then I did some research and found out that they usually need a friend to live with. I have only had them for 7 days and they have only been seperated for 7 days.
Will they be ok to just put back together? or should I do the split cage method?
What would be best?

It really depends on how young the gerbils are. Gerbils forget their cagemates within 72 hours, so they are now "strangers". If they are 8 weeks or less, you could probably just pop them in together and watch to make sure they get along. Any older than that and I'd try the split cage method.
