i know your not supposed to keep females in groups larger than 2 and they start to fight but would it be okay if the mom who is a lot bigger stays with them or would they fight when they are all full size?

i think it depends on how many you want to keep in with mom. I wouldnt recommend keeping alot with mom because once they reach maturity they might start fighting. It may be ok to just keep one or 2 with her though.

I agree with Pixy, one or two might work but any more than that might not. ALso you need to keep in mind that as the mom matures, there most likely to be fighting for the dominant role at that point.

I've heard of people keeping mroe then 3 gerbils together without any problems, But i can't say if that will last forever. I am keeping 6 fefmales together right now, Two are a year (one is the mother) One is 4 months old (first litter), and the other three are 8 weeks old (secodn litter). Everyone is good and happy, But I am prepared to remove the three youngest if there are any signs of trouble. Even though they are all very happy with one another, I still know there is a slight chance they can stay this way.
I think a group of 3 it's a problem if they are all related, but with female 2 is always safer.
