Ok, now I'm sure that somebody won't agree with me, but we all have our opinions.
I wanted to breed Ritzie again (since she's obviously not pretnant with Keebler's last litter) So I was trying to put her with Blitz, another male of mine. It wasn't going too well, but it could have been worse too. They'd dig in the bedding, then act like popcorn (oh, and yes, the space was nutral grounds) They also stood on hind feet, and held each other's hands sort of speak. (it looked funny)
Anyway, my boyfriend wanted to put Keebler back in with her, to see if she'd do the same, so we replaced Blitz with Keebler, and all was fine (keep in mind that pair has been split nearly 2 weeks). So we put Blitz back in. Things went better.
The the pups went in.... and Gizmo too. Turns out we ended up taking all 11 gerbils to my boyfriend's house in a little CritterCage for Easter (yes, they had something much bigger to be in at his house.) But the point is, that the transport gace is only like 2 gallons, and now all of them get along. I figure that they all realized that it was pointless fighting for territory because there was really none. Rtizie and Blitz get along now, and it was because we put ALL of them into the little transport carrier.
Of course, if the two of them were madd the entire time, I wouldn't have put the other gerbils in there, but since there were many times of turse.... and hey, the situation worked!
Just wanted to share with you- and maybe this'll help or something. And to let you know, my gerbils did NOT fight in that little cage when everyone was there. And at his house, we put them into the critter play pen, and there was NO fighting or scufflings. Everything was perfect. Like they all grew up together. (even though it was mom, dad, 6 kids, and 2 of dad's friends, and a new little girl)
