Springbok (Spree) seems to be getting jelous when I have any male friends over or when I play with my new gerbils. What can I do. When he is like that he gets into strops and wont come near me or guard my room. What can I do about this?

Ignoring him! He should be fine with his cage mates. But I have never heard of jelous gerbils before when friends are around me or other gerbil lovers I know. Is it not possible that he is affraid of other people! That can be the reason he is hiding or won't come near you when others are around. And what do you mean with guarding the room? What does he do exactly?

Unfortunatly Spree is alone in his cage. His cage mates have died.
How does he guard my room? Well he sits in the corner of his cage (where there is a good view of outside my room) and watchs. He also thumps or give intruders the 'evils' then they 'invade' my room.
I one had a gerbil (Kinks) Who thumped to tell me that the neibour's dog had come upstairs and he even pointed is nose for me to show me which room it had gone into.

Sad to hear, but that might explain it. That he is alone. Maybe he sees you as group member, and your room as part of his territory.

Spree also wakes me up if I oversleep. Even when he had cagemates, there was always one who would do the room guarding duty (usually Kinks as Spree and Vertigo would fall asleep on duty!) and warn me of 'danger' and wake me up and give intruders the 'evils'
