a quick question about the water introduction method: when doing a water intro, are you supposed to split cage before hand? or should they not know each other at all before you put them on the raft thing in the water?
thanks

Uhh from what I've heard, you can split cage and if that doesn't work, then plop them on the "island"... not too sure if it'll be ok if they've never even smelt one another.... I would reccommend split caging first, then if that doesn't work, then resort to the bath method.

what ive done in the past is put them in a split cage for about 3-4 weeks, then put them on an "island." after a while on the island, i put the two of them in a 20 gallon. this has previously not done so well, but when i sepperated them that time, i was not sure if they were actually fighting or not. i could have just been chaseing and a show of dominance.
but what your saying is if an intro in a neutral area fails, then imediatly put them onto the island? i havent tried this before, but i might.
thanks for your input. any other advice from anyone would help as well.
