I've just gotten to my parents house and her small thin grey male Huey came out. His eyes are closed and when he walks he spins in circles. I've never come across this before so could anyone help me out.
She has 2 other gerbils (hus brothers) in the tank with him.

Well the spinning suggests an inner ear infection. This would make him feel really dizzy and disorientated and would affect his balance. Is he wobbly? Or just spinning in one direction? Not sure why his eyes are shut... maybe he's closed them because he's so dizzy!! He could also have had a stroke.

He's spinning in one direction. He doesnt seem wobbly as such. His eyes have opened now. I've had him out on the sofa wrapped in a blanket laid next to me. I think I've got some baytril at my house so could I use it?

if you dont know the dose of Baytril I would not give it him! Can overdose the gerbil and can have bad consequences. It does sound an ear infection. I would go to the vet! I had a gerbil with inner ear infection and it was checked by a doctor before i gave Baytril. I would also leave the gerbil alone and would not wrap him in a blanket. Probably he is in discomfort. He needs rest and a trip to the vet!

The dose I was told to give the gerbil the baytril was originally for was 0.05ml. And if I was to give him 0.01m, I don't think I'd cause any harm to him. I'm seeing if mum will take him to the vet in the mornin or allow me to take him. I thought if I was to give him a bit of baytril now it would ease his spinning so he could get some rest with his brothers

If you give him too little might not work. If you give him too much you can over dose him. Also the time he got the Baytril he may have weigh different from now, and may have had a different reason why he got it for. When did you get that Baytril and what for? Same Gerbil? How old is he?

I got the baytril in about September/october last year for my old grey gerbil Remy for head tilt and SGT. Remy was about 2 and a half. The vet never weighed him when he gave me the baytril
The gerbil who is spinning is my mums and he's called Huey. He's about 2 years old and he's really thin and has been since I got her the Gerbs which leads me to believe he's the runt.

If you are sure of the dosing, give it. i don't see any harm in giving your gerbil them. If he doesn't get some sort of help soon he's not going to make it anyways. In his current state he can not coordinate his bodily movements, so finding the sipper tube to drink water is IMPOSSIBLE for him right now. Which means, without aid, he will become severly dehydrated, very quickly. Get him some pedialyte, and some peeled grapes if he can manage it.
Yes, give him the antibiotics. One drop.
If you are lucky, he has an infection that will respond to the antibiotics. I hope for your sake it isn't a viral infection. I still believe you should take him to the vet for diagnosis, and also do mention that he is probably dehydrated. They should be able to give him some subcutaneous hydratation. I had a litter of pups that once started in on spinning, I wasn't fast enough with the antibiotics, I lost half the litter within two days, The pups become so disorinetated that they could only barrel roll. Only one pup survived, Chance of Snow, a schimmel, and i don't think he ever contracted the disease.

I couldn't give him the baytril anyway it looked like there was something growing in the bottom so I'm trying to find someone to give me some cash to take him to the vets tomorrow morning.
I've had him sleeping in my jacket on the sofa with me and he seemed to be a bit more alert. I've put the heatpad in and he's sleeping on it right now.
