Saw a recipe thread a few months back, and thought it and others ought to be saved for future viewing/easy access (linked below). But rather than fill this section with loads of stickies, I thought we could have this sticky thread as a repository for them.
So either post your gerbil food recipes here, or a link to them (I'll add any posted links to this post).

Main food mix recipe. I have been using this basic recipe (with very minor variations) for a few years now. It has been used for non-breeding adult gerbils and pups from about 5 weeks old upwards and they have all grown well.
Whole barley - 50g White millet - 50g Whole oats or hulled (not rolled) oats - 50g Sorghum (white or red) - 50g Whole wheat - 50g Buckwheat - 50g Grass seeds (any) - 50g Emerald Green alfalfa pellets - 25g Dill seeds - 30g Flaxseed (brown or golden) - 20g Hemp seeds* - 20g Milk thistle seeds - 10g Niger seed - 20g Pumpkin seeds* - 20g Rapeseed (black or red) - 30g Sesame seeds - 70g Safflower or sunflower seeds, hulled - 25g Black soldier fly larvae (calci worms), dried - 30g Dried carrot - 12.5g Dried peas - 12.5g
*I typically buy these seeds hulled/out of their shells. If I buy them unhulled, I tend to add an extra few grams to account for the shells. My measuring is not terribly precise, and I usually end up weighing out a few grams more than the recipe says anyway.
Estimated nutritional composition: 16.6% protein 18.2% fat 10.4% fibre
