Here's the setup for Sassy (left) and Red (right). It's nothing fancy, but they seem to really enjoy it.

Nice set up chakotay looks like they've both got plenty of space for burrowing and a good look-out station too!  


Do you ever have problems with them chewing the bars?

I am a first time gerbil owner so my tank changed over the last 5 days of owning them, First change was to move the wooden house to give them something dark to hide in as they did not dig. Then the second change is giving them loads to dig in with tubes and a box hidden in it all as I came home to find they worked out how to dig so wanted to give them more to have fun in

I'm always looking for ways to improve Tigerlily & Ash's environment, so comments are welcome! I'm actually planning on repainting their tank topper over the summer while I'm home from school before I move into my new apartment. In the actual tank there are also 2 flowerpots (with door-holes hammered out), a cardboard house, and various tubes. Here's a current photo collection of their setup:

awe it looks really good keeper. Its fun to see it "perfect" pregerbil and after they redecorate it. It is so interesting to me to wake up in morning and see what new bedding/toy configurations they have made in the night. I like to say that gerbils are the decorators of the rodent world because they will find a way to make it how they like it.

So glad you're enjoying your duo, and also glad to see they haven't chewed their wodent yet. Man I'm seriously considering trying my spare Wodent wheel with my own pair.

Can I ask what chews/toys you're using for yours? That thing in front of the house in the middle looks interesting, like something mine would enjoy or any gerbils would like actually.

I now have 2 new mesh wheels, they did not chew the wodent wheel but wanted them to have a wheel each or one a bit wider so they can run together more easily.
I got 2 of these and they came in black yay, I got the 22cm one and they are perfect size

you can get some cool parot toys just make sure not to get the ones with string all over the place as gerbils will chew it to shreds and dont want to risk that. Some have sisal string which is better as its natiral and not cotton

These are pictures of Tillda and Graham Jones's home. It's a 15gal plus topper, and it sits next to the sofa in our living room.

You'll notice the tank is full of lightly coloured bedding and a little beach hut - it's the summer edition

Yep, I was thinking that. Luckily, my two gerbs don't generally go for sweet things (i.e. don't like other honeyed treats, bananas etc.)... Will continue to keep a close eye on it, though!
