Oh! No!! I heard a scuffle and then something banged against the cage lid. Then they chased each other around so quickly but I didn’t get a good enough view to see who was chasing who. But its Smore I Who is doing pretty much all the mounting

If this is a case of aggression, will it pass?

Ok, the banging might give a different view of things.
Are you able to stay up and watch them for the next few hours? Your description of very fast chasing with banging is concerning and I think aggression is a possibility. If you can't stay up it would be safest to remove one gerbil for the night, even if it's just to a carrier or a plastic box covered with something.

Oh! I didn’t see your post till now. But when I woke up this morning they looked like they had slept together that night.. But I can’t see them anymore, their little nest by the glass is gone. I was thinking about taking them out for playtime today? Would that be a good idea? If I do playtime should it just be them in the bathtub without me?

If they're behaving normally now I think you can take them out for playtime but watch how they behave when you put them back. It doesn't really matter if you're in the bathtub with them or not.
Watch them carefully over the next few days and make sure you have a carrier or something ready to contain a gerbil if necessary.

Oh? Could you describe what you're seeing to think that?

I think they are ok now... Haven’t seen them fighting anymore really but I don’t see them out or grooming each other anymore either. I actually didn’t get the chance to take them out for playtime on the 3rd but will definitely be taking them out tomorrow!! Let’s hope they do well! Play time question- Should I stick to one playtime area? Will it freak them out to change it up between the hall and tub?? Taming question- When can I start trying to hold Smore she is SUPER friendly and not skittish AT ALL! (The Pet Smart employee said she would be hard to tame! ) I would hate to set her back in the taming process by trying to hold her before she was ready. Also when/if Smore gets tame enough to hold, will it cause declaring if I hold Smore but not Doodle ( Snickerdoodle)? I think Doodle is going to be a little while longer with taming!

With one of my female pairs, one is very friendly and the other is skittish. I just give them both treats (without shell sunflower seeds) for coming to my hand/ letting me pick them up. The skittish one doesn't let me pick her up yet so I just pick up the friendly one, and they haven't declanned or anything.
Sometimes I'm not sure the PetSmart/ Petco employees know much at all about the animal care. Back when I didn't know much about gerbils, I had for a long time a four inch wheel because the employee said that was the right size.

Mochi Play time question- Should I stick to one playtime area? Will it freak them out to change it up between the hall and tub??If the hall or tub is a new play area for them, then it could be destabilising for them, if on the other hand they are used to going there and their are no signs of tension on entering there or returning to the cage, then they should be ok going there I think. Unless more experienced owners think otherwise?
I think you should be fine holding Smore before Doodle, as for how long, she'll probably let you know by either trying to leave your hand or maybe giving you a slight nip (not a proper skin breaking bite!).

I suppose just start with an open hand, perhaps feed her a treat if she stays on your hand without instantly walking off? And perhaps also see if she likes to be stroked. What do you other guys think? I have limited handling experience! lol
