I have the Niteangel wheel as well and it’s been amazing! A piece broke off after a year of me owning it, and they sent me a new one completely free of charge. The wheel is sturdy, silent, and the adjustable base makes it super easy to lower or raise the wheel to best fit the height of the enclosure and avoid bedding.

This sounds like an interesting product. Does the height make it more prone to tip over, or can you bury the base to the point where it is stable? I bought a silent runner wheel, and while it's incredibly durable (I've had it for two years now with minimal chewing), the gerbils always dig bedding and poop into it.

It is great, but for gerbils you should unscrew the small circular piece in the middle of the wheel because it can catch their tails.

Doesn't sound that sturdy to me , or was it dropped or something? This sounds like an interesting product. How about putting it onto a platform?

It's kind of hilarious because as soon as a shadow appears the gerbils automatically gravitate towards it, and once I put a platform down they start digging under it. then the bedding starts flying, and of course, with the direction they dig in, the wheel eventually gets stuff in it. Even still, the pee and poop is inevitable. I spray my wheel out once a day.

Markpd a friend that didn’t know how it worked twisted a piece in the wrong direction.

I bought a 10 inch Niteangel wheel and recently an 11 inch and I love them! They are made of really sturdy, virtually chew-proof plastic and they're completely silent. Definitely one of the best wheels out there, if not the best. My gerbils have been using the 10 inch wheel for a couple of months now (and Astra uses it a lot) and it is still silent. I upgraded them to an 11 inch so that I could give the 10 inch to my Chinese hamster Leo. It's a very wide wheel, so two gerbils could run together, if they could figure out how to run in the same direction. I also bought the platform for the 11 inch wheel. It's made to fit the wheel base perfectly so it doesn't slide around. I just wish the legs were a bit longer. Like ps25 , it is the best wheel I've ever had and I 100% recommend it. It is pricey, but worth it. Just a word of caution: I have heard a few cases of gerbils' or degus' tails getting stuck behind the disc in the middle, potentially leading to a degloving injury. However the disc is easily removed by turning it anticlockwise. I would recommend doing this if using the wheel for long-tailed rodents, and also duprasi, because their fat tails are probably at even higher risk of getting trapped than a gerbil's narrow tail. 11 inch wheel with stand: 10 inch wheel with central disc removed:

Wow! That sounds like a really nice wheel! Do you know if it is available in the US? I have three pretty nice metal wheels, which are very sturdy, don't tip and don't cause injuries. They were gifted to me so unfortunately I don't know what brand they are, or where they cam from but they work really well, and are also completely silent. However, this doesn't change the problem of getting covered in bedding, so this wheel looks very interesting... perhaps I will try to get one. Edit: Answered my own question! Looks like it is available in the US!

If you posted pics of the metal wheels (in another thread), maybe we could identify them? L&D It's a very wide wheel, so two gerbils could run together, if they could figure out how to run in the same direction. Blake and Avon did sometimes , I rarely see (but do often hear) Gan and Vila using their wheels. Btw, doesn't that disc contain a nut which holds the bearing in place?
[edit] We need to post reviews of our tic-tac wheels here!

Hmm, okay, thank you I will do that! It's pretty late where I am, so I'll wait until morning first, however. Where should I post that thread? I thought housing and accessories, or would it go in general comments and questions? I assume not this thread, as it's product reviews and not questions Maybe after that, however, I can post it up here with my review of my unknown metal wheels Btw, doesn't that disc contain a nut which holds the bearing in place?
I was under that impression as well... perhaps this wheel is different?

[edit] We need to post reviews of our tic-tac wheels here! The disc seems to be entirely cosmetic so the wheel functions fine without it. Niteangel have actually recently brought out a pedometer (technically not a pedometer since it counts revolutions not steps, but I'm not sure what else to call it) which you can attach where the disc would be. Perhaps fortunately for my wallet's sake, it's not available in the UK yet, and I'm not sure if it would be safe with regard to tails.

Interesting. It's unfortunate for my wallet's sake that I now know about that. Hopefully, it hasn't come to the US yet. Also interesting about the center disc, that's great. I've not heard of a wheel that does that, it's good to hear that this one does.
Also about my promised 'metal wheel' post. I'm sorry I haven't gotten to it, I've been in bad sorts for a while and unable to leave bed much. I'll try to post it as soon as possible, and then maybe someone can help me identify it. It's a great wheel, perhaps a little primitive but it makes all the gerbs happy, is silent and it keeps me happy. Perhaps I'll write a review for it once I know what it is. There are so few posts here, lol.
