Welp I finally got a job!!! I am now working at Petsmart and I am a Small Animal Specilist, I keep all of their cages clean and have their food ready\water and check their health status ect, It's quite a nice place in the back they have a place where sick rodents go, they put them in cages alone and give them vitamins to nurse them back to health, they also put the new arrivals back there in a seperate area to make sure the new animals aren't sick or that anything is wrong with them, I have never seen a place so caring and I am so glad to be working at Petsmart!!! (random) but yeah anyway you guy's are right, Petco does suck lol, After being shown around Petsmart holy cow, Petco is terrible!!!! I hope they go broke soon

ha awesome. I almost applied there for the grooming salon. Then I found out you still get paid min. wage. I could make the same amount of money doing less work somewhere else. Suprised they do all that. From what I've heard from people that work at Petco.. they just take sick rodents and freeze them to death.

When I went to Petsmart yesterday to pick up my new gerbil I was very surprised! I've never bought animals from petsmart before and what I found out was very interesting. Two of thier babies were showing signs of Diarrhea . When I pointed this out to the attendant she immeidiatly removed them from the cage and took them to the back and said she would give them something for it as well as a place to rest. Well, that was the first I'd ever heard of a pet store having a recovery area seperate from the rest! She insisted it was nerves and the other two were ok. I'm not taking any chances. I put some ornacycline in all my gerb.s' drinking water last night just to be on the safe side. I'll keep an eye on all of them. Something else unusual I noticed was the form they insist you fill out before buying your new pet, garanteeing it's health.
Petsmart seems like it would be a nice a place to work.

Heck yeah fish are hard!! You have to go through 5 different tests, different food for each of them test the water ph, ammonia and so forth, clean out each tank 145 of them with a algae hose, wash them by hand, get out the dead fish arghhhh

Well while I've never worked at a petstore, I can say that caring for just one fish tank is hard enough just as an owner... !!
