Oh, that’s lovely. My sunflowers died, along with the rest of my plants. I’ll try again next year.

Wow that's so nice! It's finally getting hot in Surrey. Hopefully it won't be like 2019 with another hosepipe ban🤷♀️

I think it got up to 30C yesterday (Sunday). The gerbils are struggling a bit, especially Storm. He has never coped well with heat. I'm never happier than when it's so cold you have to go to bed with a hot water bottle.

Aww poor storm, my boys seem to be doing ok in the heat so far (highs of 29C), although they have been less active, and yesterday Blake sat in the sandbath for about 1hr! lol elsaandanna Snap! We're in the same county . I'm nr Guildford in case you're curious, and you? (don't worry if you don't want to answer). We haven't already had this conversation have we? lol lilyanddaisy Great sunflowers! I wondered about giving the whole head to my boys, but I thought it would be too fattening? I did once give them pieces of a head over time.

All those sunflower seeds would be quite fattening but I suppose it's the gerbil equivalent of a takeaway. I probably would only put it in for a couple of hours, mostly for the cute photos to be honest.

Aw Storm! Funnily enough my girls haven't been less active, which is strange considering they were sunbathing and sleeping loads in April when it was around 22 degrees! Mali used to sleep on the wheel too when it was warm. It's been 31/32 since Sarurday where I am (Wiltshire) 🥵 and I think it's been one of the hottest places which isn't normally the case. I can't wait for it to get a bit cooler! Nice idea about giving the gerbils the sunflower heads too! Sounds like a gerbil dream
