I named mines Luwee after Louis Tomlinson from One Direction, but my dad pronounces it like luis. So i named him Luwee so it would be easy to pronounce. Then I have one named Fredee because it was my dad's idea and it was really cute.

I was thinking of Midnight and Raven, but my son chose Brad for the dominant one and Nick for the submissive one, but actually I often call them "Gerbies." When I come home I say "Hi, Gerbies," and they come out of their hideaways, expecting a treat. They respond to "Gerbies" more than to any other name or word.

Oh goodness! Lets see, my eldest living gerbil, now 4 years, is named Pipkin. It's easy to think he may have been named after the rabbit Pipkin in the classic book Watership Down. But actually, he and his littermates (now passed) were my first gerbils and I let my nieces and nephews each name one. My eldest nephew wanted to name him "Mr. Armpot". Wanting to honor my promise to my nephew, but unable to deal with giving my gerbil the name "armpot" I looked up synonyms for armpot on google. To my surprise, there is such thing as an armpot, and the alternate name for it is "Pipkin". So that is how Pipkin got his name. My lone female is named "Mi'Lady". Mainly because it is a dainty sweet name, much like her, and fun to say. Also, due to a birth deformity, her right paw looks a little like that of a lady's getting her hand kissed. Others are Abbot, named in part because of the star marking on his head but also because it is fun to say "Hey Abbottt!" Then there are his tuxedo marked brothers with the names Governor and Gentry. My most senior fellow, who was the father of Mi'Lady, Governor, Abbot, and Gentry; was named Trouble. He came with the name from his previous owner who gave him to me off of craigslist and I kept it because I thought the name was cute. He loved to come see me when I approached his habitat and I would teasingly say "Here comes Trouble!" He was such a sweetheart. Then there was Tribbles, named of course after the easily multiplying furry Star-Trek creature, lol.

We have a pair of black girls which we named Troi, after Deanna Troi from StarTrek, and her sister is named Ayla after a character in the novel Clan of the Cave Bear, I liked the name for her because she always likes to be burrowing in her 'caves'. We just brought home a pair of boys whom we could not resist and they have yet to be named. They came home with us today and are still getting settled into their new tank and topper, but loving their wheel lots.

Felix- I adopted him from a shelter and he came with the name, I didn't change it because I thought it fit him Boris- I didn't even have this name in mind when I got a second gerbil, I just instantly thought of it when I saw him

Hi, My gerbils are called Blitzen and Cupid. I called them these names because I got them as an early Christmas present at the end of November 2013. So I have had them for 3 years in November, I wanted to call them something Christmasey as I got them for Christmas, So I called them after Santas Reindeers. Blitzen is Brown and Cupid is White. This reply is very outdated but thought I should tell you anyway I can't attach photos so will link my gerbil facebook link down below. Please join www.facebook.com/groups/808192105914876/

I got my first gerbils a while ago (2009). Since I'm a Pokémon fan, I named two of them after characters from the first few seasons of the anime. One of the only two pictures I got of Ash: Misty: And then there's their sis, Flower, who's name has no link whatsoever to her siblings: I'll need to find better pictures of Flower and Misty... Anyway, I then decided to get two more for my brother's birthday, since he was in love with these funny lil' rodents. He wanted to go with a space-theme, so we then welcomed Starry, a Siamese, and his slate pied brother, Comet, into our lives. I don't have any pictures of them on hand at the moment, but I'll try to remember to add some in later. Comet and Misty had four pups, and as we're (my brother and I) into Marvel, we named them Thor (REW), Loki (Black Spotted), Bucky (Black Self), and Steve (Slate Self). I don't have any pictures of Bucky or Steve, unfortunately, but I'll add Loki and Thor in eventually. Later, I added Natasha Romanoff ('Rosie') into my kennel, and she's a pretty lil' Agouti who carries an amazing amount of recessives. She's one of my breeders, her mate's Loki. I also have Rosie and Loki's pups now, mostly named after Rise of the Guardians/ Guardians of Childhood characters: Pitch the male black self, Jamie the male spotted grey agouti, Toothiana ('Tooth') the female spotted grey agouti, Jack Frost and Nightlight the male spotted ivory creams, and Quilla (named after one of my friend's characters in a book one of our other friends is writing) the female spotted agouti. Jeez, I type a lot... I'll try to get some nice photos up eventually. Wow, we have common name tastes. I have a gerbil named Ash, though he is grey/silver (I'm not good with what color). I had a female named Misty, the same color as Ash.

Ok, here are my gerbils. Will try and get pics up later
Misty: grey, my mom named her for her color Ginger: Nutmeg I think? I dont know color names. She was brown and black all mixed in. Less black.
Alice: I just liked the name. I don't know why. She was a fisty gerbil.
Brave: He was most friendly and outgoing when I first got my clan. Ash: Named after color, grey, again. Bolt: This gerbil must have gerbil ADHD litterally. He runs and is more curious more than any gerbil I have ever seen. My dad named him.

early all of my gerbils are named after band members or band related.
My first two gerbs were brothers, so I named them Jinxx and Jaylex. Jinxx being a guitartist/violinist/pianist and Jaylex a ship name (Alex Gasgarth x Jack Barakat)
Then I got their little sister a few months later and named her after a metal singer, Brink.
Once Jay died, I got Jinxx a new playmate. Named him Draiman after David Draiman. Then I seperated them once I got Drai's sister to breed with Jinxx, named her Sammi after the real Jinxx's gf lol I'm keeping their daughter from their current litter. Dunno about her name. Might call her Juliet and get a male for her to name Andy xD

I got my gerbils from a nice little pet shop called World of Water, this is where i bought 2 gerbils from, one was black with a white chin and white strips across his paw, whilst the other was white and slightly ginger down his back with red eyes, my brother came up with the name Cole, but i didn't particularly like the name so i just changed it a bit to Coal, this is where i came up with the theme of fire, we had a theme for our cats names which was flowers so i decided on a theme of fire, then i named the other Flame due to his red eyes and ginger stripe down his back. Sadly, in April Coal died this really upset me and Flame too, so i bought another from the same place, he was only a couple months old and Flame was just over 1 year old at this point. The new gerbil i chose was sat in the corner away from his brothers and he was brown with flecks of black (my profile picture) i started thinking of names of trees and things like Oak, i even thought about the name Charcoal, but in the end he was named Timber and i love them all so much, i will never forget my baby Coal <3 how does everyone have the pictures of their gerbils with the names on as their signature?

I wanted names that went together for my two girls when I got them, and was debating whether they would be Lucy and Ethel, Sniff and Scurry, or something else cute like that. I finally settled on Maisy and Daisy.
For my boy, may he rest in peace, when I found him he had been attacked by another gerbil and she had eaten off all the skin on his back leaving him a bloody mess. I decided to call him Red because that's all he was when I got him. My sweet little fighter was alive for a year before he died of kidney failure. He could have had internal organ issues from his previous scuffle. <3 I miss him every day.

One of my gerbils, Houdini, was named this because when we bought him, we were taking him home in a cardboard carrier. We looked away for a couple of minutes and looked back to see that he had chewed a gerbil-sized hole in the box that quickly and was already roaming around. We taped the hole up and hailed a cab, when I stepped into the cab and checked on the three gerbs I had bought I saw that Houdini had chewed yet another large hole in the box. I had to cover the hole with my hand, and he bit me. He nibbled at my fingers for a while and then turned to try to chew more holes in the box, later coming back to latch onto my hand. He repeated this for a while until he bit me hard enough to draw blood, so I had to take receipt from Staples and cover the hole with that instead. We managed to get home without a lost gerbil and I planned to name him something else, and keep Houdini as a nickname or a joke, but I couldn't think of anything else so I stuck with Houdini after all. He's quite an energetic gerbil and spends most of the night on his wheel.

Scout was named because every time I open the door, whether she is asleep or not, she is up and standing on her hind legs to figure out what's going on.
