Yes, belly sniffing is where the scent gland is so they can tell who they are. You were lucky they didn't hop into an instant ball fight - normally biting the scend gland or genitals is so fast you can't stop it.
I can't strss how much I wouldn't recommend you do this again - but if you feel that all is god between them - then only you can take that risk. Especially when one of them has unweaned pups still.
Lovely to see them develop in your pictures though...

Markpd, I bought this sand from the pet store specially for rodents. It cost around 5 dollars/ 3,5 pounds. Is very fine and I saw Hazel loves it more than Tokyo. It’s from the Vitakraft brand but I don’t think you can find it in UK or in USA. Here’s a photo with the sand bag ibb.co/CPxzG5g

I use that sand. The Range stock it here in the UK. I gave up with the Tiny friends farm stuff after they changed the recipe and it was so dusty. All of mine seem ok with it.
Thanks for sharing more pics and videos, they really are cute, and it's been great to see how quickly they grow.
I agree with Betty, in that it really wouldn't be a good idea to try Tokyo and Hazel together again, no matter how short a time. They have babies that need them to be fit and healthy.

Thank you for your support. I have great news. I have already found a home for two of the pups, they are 3 girls and 2 boys✨ An agouti girl and a dark eyed honey is leaving next week (they will be around 5 weeks and 3 days. The one who will get them come from 140 miles/228 kilometers so it is something. I’ll let you more informations tomorrow. Tokyo is very sweet, I cuddle her every morning and night on her head and back, when she is more sleepy😍 Hazel is quite wild since she gave born to her little puppies who are now like littles dragons:)) Good night everyone:))

That's amazing! I'm so happy for you (that you've found a home for some of the pups).
As always, they're so beautiful <3

That's good that you found homes for them Although I think that's cutting it close at just over 5 weeks separation, at least going by this research paper.
I wonder what experienced breeders reckon?

Funnily enough (and I was a little concerned about this), Pippa and Mali they said were *around* 8 weeks (obviously could have been 9 weeks or 10 weeks) and that they had been there for *around* four weeks. There was a sign on their cage which I can't remember exactly what it said but something like they were settling in and weren't ready to go home yet, which suggests to me they hadn't been there quite as long as what thy said. I might have heard wrong with the times, or they might have got them wrong lol. I do hope it was one of those two, or they were a little older than they said. Also their birth date on my signature is aproximate as it was for Rolo and Storme, I just took away 2 months from the day I got them.

I thought nobody will take them, that’s why I posted them now. Taking siblings is a great idea, I think:)) I’m thinking about buying a medium box, fill it with hay, put some food and water plus a toy when the pup will go to its new home. What do you think? Should I put him water or 2 hours and 30 minutes is ok for them to stay without food and water.

It would be better to have food and water there, although they wouldn't starve or die of thirst in 2.5 hrs of course, but it would be nicer for them, and if the food is scattered in the bedding it'll give them something to do . Btw you said 'pup will go to its new home', did you mean pups? I'm not sure what/who your siblings comment is referring to. Unless you meant taking their brothers and sisters with them for the trip? Not what that article was talking about, but I guess it would be nice for the pups you're giving away, although not so much for the ones going for the ride (especially if it's a 5hr round trip?) . Unless I've completely misunderstood you?

Oh, yes, I meant pups. I was referring about the fact that people take two together, not only one, and from the same mom is a good idea. One pair will travel almost 3 hours. Somebody called me yesterday about the pups but she didn’t even know how to take care of them, with what are they feed and how big they get. She could interest first, I don’t want to be mean, but if you want to get an animal you need to be informed. That’s the sad part of this country, they don’t appreciate that much these animals like rodents, reptiles or the small ones like little cute hedgehogs:)) Here are some photos with them😍 Tokyo’s pups—5 weeks ibb.co/JBssWd1ibb.co/qRLNv01ibb.co/d4hkBKmibb.co/cQ7QwwL

So so cute! I can’t decide whether I think they’re cuter when they’re teeny weeny just-growing-fur pups with their eyes still closed, or whether they’re sweeter with their little gerbil faces, just miniature. :) I think gorgeous either way is probably the answer
