Um. Are you sure they aren't dirty? It could be them just molting to maybe Shimmel color? Hard to tell.

They've definatly got red eyes so they can't be schimmels, don't schimmels start off orange and then fade? I noticed from sorchajude's pics that they seems to have a yellow tint too them. They might be dirty? Could they be argente creams? I wouldn't have thought it's anything to worry about. V.confusing, I'll never be a gerbil expert, just when I think I've got to grips with them, I get all confused again.

I'm sure here not dirty 100%sure they have sand baths all the time and groom each other. i thought when i got them that they where ruby eyed white but i must have been wrong . in this pic you can sorta see the the creamy bit in the tail amd near the eye and on the back .

Spotted Ivory Cream maybe? Red eyed Silver Nutmeg.. though they would have ticking wouldn't they?
Are these gerbils males or females? What kind of bedding are they on, and do you feed them any foods with colouring?

i foind out why there are changing they are Himalayan gerbils this is what i found on the internet . Himalayan -- c(h)c(h) DD EE -- P- This colour looks like a Pink Eyed White except it has a coloured tail. However a young Himalayan has a white tail and it can take up to six months for it to colour up. The colour of the tail depends on what genes the gerbil carries, weather it is A-, aa, G- or gg.

Himalayan's and DTW's are the same thing aren't they? I'm sure people use the two names interchangeably which is why I'm confused. I know the colour of the tail can vary depending on what other *mind goes blank* genes (I think that's the word I want) are present.
